What size excavator will fit on my block?
It depends on the narrowest point of access. A 1.7-tonne mini excavator fits through most standard side gates, while larger machines need open frontage or fence panels removed. We check access at quoting and match the plant to it.
Do you check for underground services before digging?
Always. We run Dial Before You Dig enquiries and locate and mark services on site before any machine starts, and hand-dig around known service runs where the plans indicate them.
What happens to the soil you dig out?
Spoil can be spread and levelled on site where there is somewhere useful for it, or carted away. Cartage is priced on volume, so we confirm which way you want to go before we start.
Can you excavate for a pool?
Yes. We excavate pool shells to the profile supplied by your pool builder, including planning spoil removal and access on tight blocks where the machine has to work around the house.
How deep does a driveway excavation need to be?
It depends on the surface and the traffic. A residential paved driveway needs enough depth for a compacted base plus the paver and bedding sand, while driveways taking heavy vehicles need a deeper box-out. We set the depth against the finished surface level.
